I am speaking in San Francisco, New York, and London on September 9th, 14th, and 16th, respectively, for a joint MySQL migration seminar with MySQL Inc., Embarcadero Technologies, and Sogeti. The seminar is free for all to attend, but space is limited.

Summer Olympics
NBC is broadcasting the Summer Olympics this year to us Americans, and unfortunately nearly all of the coverage is severely time-delayed. They are only covering the parts of events where Americans are competing, and giving really stupid commentary during the entire thing. Most of the commentary gives me the feeling that they’ve already watched the entire thing in slow motion before overlaying their commentary.
This is the worst Olympic coverage ever, hands down.
P.S. Google-bomb, yes yes.
New Blog Software
I changed my blog over to WordPress as the bugs and such in b2 got on my nerves. I hope you like it!

A Fifth of a Second
Jeremy Zawodny:
“200ms… that’s when we start getting worried, we don’t like to see queries take that long”
That’s why I love MySQL. :)
